Buca’s Revisited

by Don on November 3, 2009

I ate at Buca’s again last night and this time I ordered correctly. Clams in a tomato broth, a salad of fresh cheese, proscuitto, and arugula. The waitress dropped off a lemon slice, which complemented the salad perfectly.

Dinner was a Vitello Rosa, 2 breaded cutlets in a dark wine sauce with dried cherries and sun dried tomatoes. Roast potatoes with salt and herbs were crisp and creamy on the inside. I’ve had the veal before, I realized, when I saw it, but it was still delicious.

After dinner, a woman from the next table said hello. She was one of the only people I knew in the area I might run into–she and her husband used to run the Carriage House B&B and now own the Captain’s Table B&B. I stayed with them the last time I was in Chatham for training.

Much more satisfying dinner all around through no fault of Buca’s.
